| 14/01/10 | I've noticed an increase in the amount of labels that specialise in Free Music. Amazing! Here are two phenomenal free albums I downloaded today: Marilyn Roxie - New Limerant Object (Vulpiano Records) Laura Stevenson - A Record (Quote Unquote Records) Obviously these good souls appreciate donations, so if you enjoy 'em, be generous. It seems that's the future of digital music distribution for the meantime, so I'm trying to oget used to it. I discovered a lot of really interesting music in Berlin, to my surprise. Someday soon I'll put links up to that stuff - takes some getting used to. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow before I have my first rehearsal with the Chesham Barbershop Choir.. looking forward to that. JEEPS gig at Dublin Castle on Mon. |
| 13/01/10 | First JEEPS gig ever & Jet Tea's last night in London collided & culminated in an eventful & somewhat shambolic fashion on Monday! Very big thank you to everyone who came, it was a good way to start this journey of Jeeps we've embarked upon.

| 05/01/10 | Decent start to the year so far, my main goals being Breathe, Eat & Laugh. Generally not so simple as it sounds. Jeeps rehearsals are going well, solo stuff is coming along, and within myself I feel more efficient. The set for the Jeeps show on Mon is taking shape; it will be a fairly punky affair including Jeeps On, Everything (Anymore), Channel Ten, They Don't Need Love, & A Touch Of Harry In The Night. ![]() |
| 01/01/10 | Happy New Year to half the world, and to the other half - Happy New Year very soon! How strange that it's 2010 for me, and 2009 for many of my friends. A new decade indeed.. and how amazing has the last ten years been for most of us?.. so full of life in all it's shades. Perhaps too full for me, as I'm struggling to recover to be honest. The chaos in the years leading up to my 30th has taken the wind out of my sails for the moment, so I'm taking things slowly for once; cut right down on the drinking and going out for starters. Stayed in tonight.. watched a bit of the Madonna tour.. first bit of telly I've watched in years proper. Can't believe they took that excellent snare roll out of Into The Groove, that's the best bit. She's playing distorted guitar on Borderline.. Did Courtney Love teach her that? I even took a break from writing music for a spell recently - but it's always a pleasant surprise when a new song pops up from nowhere. The recent ones have been very uncharacteristic for me, which gives me pleasure, but it remains to be seen if they will bring any enjoyment to others. ![]() Truth is, I've done next to zero promotion for my music since around 2003. There are many, many unreleased albums, and it's about time I released & promoted them to see how they're received. I'm getting up off the floor, starting right now, with the new band JEEPS & numerous releases lined up. With the wonderful William Nein on board, and a fantastic drummer, this project simply cannot fail to be interesting, and I'm really looking forward to playing that electric guitar again. Thank you to everyone & sorry for running/hiding away so much these past months. Less than two weeks 'till the first JEEPS show.. |
| 30/12/09 | Boat cops of Venice Are hunting the menace Known only as Ombra Del Diavolo. He lives under the bridges With white water witches Whose hearts heave hard, hot, heavy & hollow. He takes girls in their prime, And then one at a time Makes them pay for what's lost in his past. And the witches look on Jealously, and with scorn Dreaming they drew his passionless lust. From the hills around Florence The people's abhorrence And horror stretch down through the South, And North over borders The news of the murders Makes tight-lipped types open at mouth. There be 2 things unfed: 1. The warm prison bed And 2. boat cop Stuart's pride in his work When his young wife, quite stuffed, Bound with his own handcuffs, Floats past under Rialto with a smirk. |
| 19/12/09 | SO! This time last year I was all cosy in Berlin, ice deeply entrenched in the stolid bones of the city, my first Christmastime away from England. And now I'm back, certainly a changed soul, and somewhat disoriented of spirit. But I'm content & at peace. I'm working song by song through My Life The Trainwreck and uploading tracks as I complete them - it's not the way I wanted it to be heard, but I've plain given up on the mixes for the moment. That's not to say it's not good! I've just lost all perspective and I'd much rather be spending my time on even newer material. I hope to have the whole album up here within a week: My Life The Trainwreck ![]() |
| 11/12/09 | Memories are rotten And like the dancefloors we've forgotten What they're good for While the wood tore Through the curtain The colours on Channel Ten look brighter Cast ghosts over the typewriter And the decor In the bookstore Just gets whiter. ![]() |
| 08/12/09 | I've moved to a small town called Chesham outside of London to get some peace & quiet, and detox a little. It really has been a hectic & ridiculous year or two, but the new band is progressing, and the first gig is booked for 12 Bar near Tottenham Court Road on Mon 11th Jan. It will most likely be an acoustic gig.![]() Living out here & writing this reminds me a little of April 2005 when I broke up TheBed, went out into the English countryside & wrote the first England & The April album. I used to blog a lot here back then, and although not many people read this, it's a world apart from the Facebook-style microblogs that have superceded them. Firstly, if you are here, I'm assuming it's out of a genuine interest in what I'm up to. I'm not intruding on you, like a news feed, I'm just here doing my thing. Man. So, I'm going to keep this site more up to date from now on with lyrics, photo's & news. Happy festive season x.. |
| 26/11/09 | I'm back in London, and I've brought my recording equipment & computer with me. Expect a lot of activity in the next few months, including an all new live band. I'll be in London for the forseeable future. See you in town!. |
| 22/10/09 | So there's this album called My Life The Trainwreck that's sitting in my computer, which in turn is packed away in Berlin with a giant spider sitting on it. Meanwhile I'm back from New York, and am hanging about in London wondering what to do next. That's basically the extent of this update. On Halloween I turn 30.. E-mail me usin' thebedpost@yahoo.com if you want an invite to the party on Fri 30th, or just to say hi.. |
| 28/07/09 | I'm back in London for the time being, got some solo shows coming up in the next few weeks, including my first piano gig at Regal Room in Hammersmith this Fri 31st July. More dates at Glen MySpace. |
| 27/05/09 | Well well, it would appear that Katy Brands has already done the Usher cover joke we attempted with Love In The Pub, so that's scrapped from the 2MGB EP.. still though, the other tracks are originals & sounding decent f'sure. For what it's worth, the Usher cover is up on the Two Man Gangbang MySpace. Regarding solo stuff, I won't be able to top this next solo album for a while so I won't even attempt it. Might move to Poland instead. Might write a book. |
| 23/05/09 | Hey peeps, Glen here. I've spent this week holed up at Glendale Berlin, working on an interesting hip hop EP with current project Two Man Gangbang. It wasn't what I expected to be the first release to follow 8 Love Rivals on tea tone, but what started as a bit of a joke actually ended up getting quite serious.. sortof.. & we're all very happy with the way the main track Get Yo Pussy (Outta My Ass) is sounding. We'll be putting the finishing touches to that tomorrow. The other 2 tracks are likely to be Love In The Pub and Stabbing Bitches, a preview of which can be heard on the new Two Man Gangbang MySpace. On a more traditional note, my next solo album My Life The Trainwreck is all but completed, & awaits mastering. More info on that soon. |
| 23/05/09 | WELCOME to the new Tea Tone website. This will be updated regularly with information about tea tone artists, check back soon! |
